A pair of doves nesting in my gutters

  1. Awww, those eggs are ridiculously cute. It seems like the birds like your gutter so much that they chose it as their birthing ground. But it would be better if you can transfer their nest to a safer place so that the gutters will be cleared for rainwater and to avoid clogging.

  2. Doves are beautiful creatures. But it is not pretty to see them on your gutters! Animals can wreck your roof and gutters in many ways. They can create a hole on the roof that will lead to roof leaks and rusting of the structure. Also, animal droppings left on the roof can pose a major health risk for you and your loved ones.

  3. I can only imagine your surprise when you saw that. It is quite refreshing to know that other life forms find your home quite comfortable, but it definitely is dangerous for your roof and gutters. And like what Son said, animals taking refuge in your roof structure can lead to serious problems like roof holes, dents and leaks, which will weaken your roof structure. [Joanne Barragan]

  4. Birds nesting in gutters can cause leaves and other litter to clog the drainage. You may try a bird repellent gel to prevent birds and squirrels from nesting in your gutters. Just be careful in handling the substance because it can irritate your skin upon contact.
